During Celtronic 2025, Derry will be the launchpad for an extraordinary celebration of music, art, and community on Saturday, April 19th, as The Triumph of Art, a new work commissioned to celebrate the National Gallery’s 200th anniversary, begins with a spectacular free event at Guildhall Square.
During Celtronic 2025, Derry will be the launchpad for an extraordinary celebration of music, art, and community on Saturday, April 19th, as The Triumph of Art, a new work commissioned to celebrate the National Gallery’s 200th anniversary, begins with a spectacular free event at Guildhall Square.
 
“The Triumph of Music,” will be a groundbreaking public art experience that promises to transform the city into a vibrant festival of sound and creativity.
 
The collaborative event will bring together multiple artists and organizations including The Playhouse Derry, Celtronic and banner designer Ed Hall who will join forces with Jeremy Deller to create an unforgettable experience. The celebration coincides with the 25th and final edition of Celtronic, Ireland’s longest running electronic music festival and will feature an exciting mix of performances and experiences.
 
Highlights will include a special procession by The Playhouse artists and the Armagh Rhymers, starting at midday and a family-friendly dance party at The Guildhall with legendary DJ Tom Middleton. Visitors can expect “weird creatures, sharp moves, great beats, and loads of culture” – along with the all-important tea and cake.
